Became the point of gathering for ours Earth Day clean up.
Women Together/Mujeres Unidas (WT/MU) is a group of women from the Piedmont/ Pleasant St. Neighborhood of Worcester, Massachusetts who are working together to end the violence that is taking the lives of many young people in our neighborhood. We want every woman in the neighborhood to be able to raise her children and live in a safe, clean and supportive community
Women Together creates peace in our
neighborhood by building strong
relationships with one another,
our families, and young people to
share in a common vision for community
life.
That vision includes:
-A neighborhood that is free from
violence and crime.
-A clean, vibrant, and thriving
environment to live, work, and play.
-An inclusive and accepting community.
Goals:
1.Raise and address problems to
elected officials as united community
2.Participate in creative planning
processes that support our vision*
3.Endorse other neighborhood
initiatives reflective of our vision
4.Provide a forum for gathering to
meet one another and further our
relationships
Practices:
-We do not accept violent crimes or
social injustice. When we become aware
of these wrongs we acknowledge our
common loss through action.
-We celebrate old friends and welcome
new members at quarterly meetings and
regular coffees.
-We practice inclusively by meeting
in accessible places, having language
interpretation, sharing concerns, and
welcoming new ideas.
-We retreat annually to shape our
vision.
